REAL-TIME THINKING: For Real Problems and More

Abstract:
Consider real-world problems that the Science and Engineering community is currently attempting to solve: automated vehicles, smart energy, future cities, connected communities, etc. We believe that the needed solutions can be inspired by core principles underlying the real-time domain. We discuss these core principles and then provide several compelling examples illustrating the central role played by them in solving the problems mentioned above.
